Geoff Leigh is an English jazz and progressive rock musician, playing primarily soprano sax and flute. He was a member of the English avant-rock group Henry Cow and founded several bands himself, including Red Balune, Random Bob, Black Sheep, Mirage, and Ex-Wise Heads. In 1981 Leigh moved back to Rotterdam and formed the Kontakt Mikrofoon Orkest, featuring once again Colin McClure, Aloijsius van Saus (vocals, guitar, alto sax, keyboards, electronics), Gert van Seters (drums), and Jos Valster (saxophones and clarinets). This very short-lived group recorded one single on the MCCB label, before splitting in late 1981. Excellent experimental post punk tracks. Do The Residue was released as a 7″ by MCCB (MCCB 004) in 1981.
Tracks:
- Do The Residue
- Living In Rotterdam

>wow I have been looking for any info/releases by this group after hearing "Living in Rotterdam" on a ReR comp a couple years back. This explains why there isn't much out there! Shoulda suspected it was a Henry Cow-related thing…
Anyway, thanks for the post, love this single.
