Bourbonese Qualk – Hope

Hope

This album was written and recorded by the group during 1983-1984 at their newly occupied headquarters, the notorious “Ambulance Station”. The Ambulance Station was a 5 storey building in the roughest part of South London, which quickly became a nationwide center for anarchist events. Bourbonese Qualk performed there regularly and organized gigs, exhibitions film events etc during the buildings 3 year occupation. Hope is a record with intensity that makes your pulse beat faster, it stops your breath, it makes your teeth chatter and your brain dizzy with excitement. Hope is full of excesses, it is loaded with it but never too much, it gets you and drags you on. You will get from hope very clear views with a murdering vitality and a passionate deathly atmosphere, powerful and significant sound. Heavy metal percussion cuts through visionary areas, chunking bass accompanies the delayed orgasm of sunset sex and headstop. This is dripping emotion. This is feverish energy. This is music with balls. Hope is coming off on icy heights. Review by Peter Claessens. Hope was released on vinyl by Recloose Organisation (LOOSE 007) in 1984.

Bourbonese Qualk Is The Main Thing and Hope has the eternal faculty to mesmerize me so perfectly.
In a different way, SunSeaStar (other project with Simon Crab) is highly recommended for fan of drone, abstract music !!
