As requested by Pol here’s Band Apart’s first and only full album. Band Apart where Jayne Bliss and Medor Mader, this album is more softer than there 12″, more a cross between avant garde pop wave and post-punk with a dark undertone, but nonetheless an excellent album. Marseille was released on vinyl by Crammed Discs (CRAM 022 LP) in 1983.

Tracks:

  1. The Lesson
  2. Marseille
  3. Ham Sandwich
  4. O My Beautiful Song

Band Apart – Band Apart

Band Apart

This New York band consisted of US vocalist Jayne Bliss and Marseille musician Medor Mader. Jayne Bliss wrote very personal lyrics. Mader played guitars and keyboards. He had collaborated with Hector Zazou on a number of projects (including the infamous La Perversita album). Band Apart’s post-No Wave sound was different from anything else on Crammed. They released a self-titled mini-album (containing the cult track “Jaguar”), and an album entitled “Marseille”. Their sound was very personal, incisive and eerie. Band Apart was released on vinyl as an EP by Crammed Discs ( CRAM 012) in 1983.

Tracks:

  1. Jaguar
  2. Strainer
  3. Eve Ryonne
  4. Le Mont Des Olives
