Crash Worship ADRV – The Science Of Ecstasy

crash worship

Crash Worship or ADRV (Adoración De Rotura Violenta) was a San Diego based experimental-aktionist-industrial-noise performance group formed in 1986. Most renowned for its live shows in which three stand-up percussionists hammered out concussive poly-rhythms to abstract mutated guitar, synthesizers, effects and dualling vocalists. Audience members were showered in various substances such as blood, wine and honey while band members ignited combustibles and fire within the performance area. Crash Worship also released several albums and singles of both live and studio-recorded music, mostly self produced… Read More →. The Science Of Ecstasy was released as a cassette with booklet by Rocco Fresco (RFC3) in 1989. Recorded at Life on the Water Theatre (S.F.) by Lloyd Minthorne, 12/19/1988; at 455 10th St. (S.F.) by Tim North (who also played on this recording), 6/4/1989; at Gilman St. Warehouse by George Gleason (5/20/1989); and at rehersal, 1/6/1989. A few different  cassette covers exist. The band fit as many different cover designs as they could onto one sheet which they had printed and from which they cut out the covers.

Crash Worship – What So Ever Thy Hand Findeth – Do It With All Thine Might

What So Ever Thy Hand Findeth

Crash Worship have existed since 1987, bringing their unique variety of rhythm-based music to the public both through their beautiful recordings and their stunningly-powerful live shows. Led by a strong trio of drummers, the band creates an atmosphere of bacchanalia. Their recordings explore different aspects of rhythm and psychedelia. Early on, Crash Worship released a number of cassettes and vinyl EPs on their own Alarma label, including the This cassette and the essential What So Ever Thy Hand Findeth… 12″ EP. Their first CD was Espontaneo!, released in 1991 on Charnel Music. It collected live recordings from one of their tours, primarily recorded in San Francisco. In 1992, British label Cold Spring released the Asesinos CD, which compiled remixed and remastered versions of the band’s favorite tracks from their cassettes and vinyl releases. After a break during which the band’s lineup changed and they toured the U.S. several times, the band’s first “true” album of studio recordings has been released, Triple Mania II, by Charnel Music. The first edition of the CD was packaged in a special deluxe folder with copper on the front and inside, screen-printed in full color. A European edition was released by Enemy Productions of Germany in different packaging; the European edition is in a jewel box with a transparent insert and tray card printed in full-color. The music is the same on both editions, and after the first pressing of the U.S. edition sold-out, the packaging changed to the same as the European edition. Crash Worship sometimes appears with ADRV appended to their name, meaning Adoration De Rotura Violenta (“Crash Worship” in Spanish). What So Ever Thy Hand Findeth – Do It With All Thine Might was released as a 12″ by Rocco Fresco / ¡Alarma! (RFR1) in 1989. Limited edition of 2000 copies.
