Various – Pshycomania

Once more an excellent contribution by Thee UF. An electronic / minimal compilation album from the mid 80′s. Klinik: pioneer Belgian EBM / Industrial band. Consisted of Marc Verhaegen and Dirk Ivens, original line-up also included Erik Van Wonterghem. Dirk Ivens left in 1990 to form Dive. Klinik continued in the solo person of Marc Verhaegen. In December 2003, the duo reunited for a one-shot celebrative performance at the BIM Festival in Belgium. The huge success and overwhelming requests from fans led to the appearance of The Klinik in the original line up at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig the following year. Other festival appearances followed. In 2009, The Klinik are back as a full time band, with a new studio work to be released in the future. Because of continuing health problems of Marc Verhaegen, it’s not sure that he can join The Klinik live on stage in the near future. Therefore, he will concentrate on creating music in his homestudio. X-Ray Pop: not much to be found about X-Ray Pop, an French synth/pop band. Members are: Doc Pilot, Charlotte Barfuss, Patrick Gicquel, Olivier Gicquel, Fran Zoscha, Stéphane Archambault. Mark Lane: see for more info. Nico De Haan: Belgian producer and musician who worked together with The Klinik, Vomito Negro and others. Vomito Negro: see here. Steve Sheehan: see here. De Fabriek: see here. Asod Dvi: experimental duo from Norway, visit here. The Joke Project: is Seiei Jack Nakahara, Hometaper/visual artist from Japan. He tries to capture various media intentionally. He acts as if he was media. His main themes are identity and the relationship with the others. Ongoing project. R.T.C.: (The Rocking Teenage Combo) was a Dutch band that had obvious Zappa and Residents influences. The band started out in 1980 with Niek Roovers and Nanne Tepper. PLX 15: for more info on the band go to Paranoia Is Freedom blog. Erik Von Heiden: no info. Pshycomania was released on vinyl by Etiquette Records (ER 009) in 1986. NXP has informed me that the above cover is that of the second edition, the first edition was hand painted by Nico De Haan in a limited amount of copy’s.

Brume & De Fabriek – Soulscape

Soulscape

Excellent collaboration between these two sound artists. See previous posts for info about Brume. De Fabriek are from the Dutch City of Zwolle and original founded by Richard van Dellen and Andries D. Eker at the end of the seventies. Now they are Richard van Dellen, Louise Manuru van Dellen (his wife) and Simone van Dellen (his daughter). Not considering themselves a regular band (for one thing, they are a label too) they present The Factory as some sort of workmen-union, and the musicians they work with as labourers. Music is created through workman tools and machinery. Throughout years they were recording with the likes of Solenoid, O.R.D.U.C., Technological Aquiver, Brume, Vivenza, Klinik, and Gen Ken Montgomery. Soulscape was released on cassette by (I think) De Fabriek & Brume Rec. in 1992.
