Vocalist Mona Mur – born in Hamburg to Polish parents – first graced the German music scene in 1982. In her quest for the angry sound of her times she soon hooked up with FM Einheit, Marc Chung and Alex Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten. As “Mona Mur & die Mieter” (translated “Mona Mur & The Tenants”) they recorded the 12inch “Jeszcze Polska”, straight away conquering NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS’s Single of the Week slot. Distinctly averse to commercial success the group decided to disband after their first release. Mona Mur then moved on to a solo career. However, from 1984 to 1986, Einheit and Borsig would continue to play for Mur’s live backing band, before parting ways as well. Jeszcze Polska was released as a 12″ by Supermax, Rip Off / Ruff Trade (Max 02) in 1982.
