NLC started in July 1989 as a duo (Angustère & Julien Ash). They released the CD single “Lost Sand Divinities”, the double-tape boxed set “Période Taoiste” and the tape “Schizolithe” (in a 2 kg reinforced concrete box). The same duo also released the tape “Dieu est Gros” (in a wooden box) under the name “Triste Nuit Pour” and the tape “Ecmnesia” under the name “Maelstrom”. In December 1990, Angustère left the band. The first tape can be described as classical / ambient / experimental, the second tape is more avant garde / ambient / industrial. Excellent stuff. Période Taôiste was released as a two cassette set in a video-box with inserts, by EDT (ETT02, ETT03) in 1991, in a limited edition of 50 copies.
