Excellent compilation cassette from the early 90′s of French experimental / ambient / industrial  bands. Desaccord Majeur: Since the 80′s French musician Jerome Mauduit has been creating strange sound entities. NLC / Maelstrom: NLC started in July 1989 as a duo (Angustère & Julien Ash), Maelstrom was an early side project of Julien Ash. Brume: Christian Renou is a prolific French musique concrete composer/sound organizer. Internal Fusion: is a rare group. In almost twenty years of activity, Internal Fusion has only released a few solo CD(r)s, one CD in collaboration with Désaccord Majeur under the Tlön Uqbar moniker (“La Bola Perdida”), two tapes (through Désaccord Majeur label) and taken part in a handle of compilations. Syllyk: is Eric La Casa and Sylvie Laroche, from Paris, who work on field recordings and sound manipulations. Vrischika: is Gérard Guiggia, frequent Brume collaborator. La Nomenklatur / Tiburce: Philippe Escartin is the mind behind both projects. Cent Ans De Solitude: Sound project of Jean-Yves Millet the man behind Les Nouvelles Propagandes label (France). Opus 1 was released as a cassettte by Les Nouvelles Propagandes (NP .016) in 1992.

N.L.C. – Période Taôiste

Nouvelles Lectures Cosmopolites

NLC started in July 1989 as a duo (Angustère & Julien Ash). They released the CD single “Lost Sand Divinities”, the double-tape boxed set “Période Taoiste” and the tape “Schizolithe” (in a 2 kg reinforced concrete box). The same duo also released the tape “Dieu est Gros” (in a wooden box) under the name “Triste Nuit Pour” and the tape “Ecmnesia” under the name “Maelstrom”. In December 1990, Angustère left the band. After the solo-CD “Incandescent”, NLC started again, but had become Ash’s solo project. Read More →. The first tape can be described as classical / ambient / experimental, the second tape is more avant garde / ambient / industrial. Excellent stuff. Période Taôiste was released as a two cassette set in a video-box with inserts, by EDT (ETT02, ETT03) in 1991, in a limited edition of 50 copies.
