Orchestra of Skin and Bone were an Australian experimental / post-punk band who were active during the 1980′s. The band consisted principally of vocalist Ollie Olsen, Marie Hoy and percussionist John Murphy. They released a self-titled mini-LP in 1986, see here on Mutant Sounds, and numerous cassettes on underground noise labels. A track from the mini-LP, “Sometimes” was later covered by Olsen’s project with Michael Hutchence, Max Q. Excellent tribal drone music. Track 1 is a spontaneous recording performed in the rehearsal room of John Murphy and Ollie Olsen. Track 2 is a live recording on New Year’s Eve with the full group heralding the arrival of the dawn.1984-1986 was released as a cassette by Extreme ( DEX 4715) in 1986. In 1991 re-released on cd by Unclean Production ( UPR 0991 CD-02).
