A Danish punk-band founded in 1977 under the name “Sods” and after using both for a while until in 1981 it changed to “Sort Sol”. The band consisted of Steen Jørgensen (vocals), Peter Peter (guitar), Lars Top-Galia (guitar), Knud Odde (bass), Tomas Ortved (drums).The singer Steen Jørgensen is missing one arm (the reason being supposedly that he is a victim of the now banned medical drug Thalidomid, which his mother used before his birth). Their first album (under the name Sods) “Minutes to Go”, released in 1979, is today by many considered to be the first real Danish Punk release. Since the mid 90’s one member after another left the band; Peter Peter in 1995, Knud Odde in 2001 and Lars Top-Galia in 2004 and it’s not certain that the band still really exists. Excellent cross between Joy Division and Section 25. Marble Station was released as a 7″ by 4AD (AD 101) in 1981.
