Stan Bingo was a friend of Throbbing Gristle. He was the engineer for the Heathen Earth album , and also filmed the Oundle School performance. Additionally he did the PA mixing at some T.G. concerts. Going by the name Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (formerly Neil Andrew Megson) now, Genesis P -Orridge is arguably one of the most important icons of alternative culture of the latter quarter of the 20th Century and beyond. With Coum Transmissions, he challenged social boundaries with art ; with Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, he played a part in fundamentally redefining music. What’s History is a continuous 38 Minute Track of meditative Vibraphon sounds and electronic background noises, a break with the raw sounds of industrial music and the transition to a rather calm meditative sound.This is the cd version of What’s History from 1990 on Nekrophile Rekords. The original tape is from 1982 also on Nekrophile Rekords (NRC 02).
