We Know Time

Excellent double feature on Jim Tapes the label of James levine aka Croiners. The music can be described as industrial, electronic, experimental, avant garde & minimal. Swinebolt 45: goes under the name of Roger Moneymaker an American artist who also plays in bands like PrescoRolmo, Swine Is Mental, Viktimized Karcass. Misteek, Zanoisect, Zanguts: Since 1985 these project on the ZH27 label has been the vehicle Zan Hoffman has used to explore experimental auditory zones. With over 95 releases, recent works have taken to exploring sources from one individual home-recording artist per release. Artists treated include Haters, Napalmed, Xedh, Gintas K, Jorge Castro, and Krabatof Philharmonic Orchestra. White Hand: Los Angeles -based industrial/noise artist. If, Bwana: is Al Margolis, composer, musician, raconteur Founded Sound of Pig Music in 1984, a cassette only label with over 300 releases Co-founded Pogus Productions in 1989. J. Levine, Croiners: Croiners (a.k.a. James Levine) has taken digital and tape-loop technology beyond its minimalist beginnings, blending complex layers of synthesized and natural sounds with occasional found-sound elements, weaving involved and colorful textures into nearly tangible sound objects. R. Franecki: or Richard Franecki well-known member of F/i and Vocokesh. Deaf Lions: Timothy Vickers, was a performer in the Music Concrete movement happening in San Francisco. He was making cassette tapes of mixed found sound under the name of Deaf Lions. Swsw Thrght: is John Jacobs an Australian artist. Agog: Damian Bisciglia was a experimental recording artist and home-taper put out a variety of cassettes in the 1980′s on his Spagyric label. In the L.A. project Points of Friction in the early 80′s. Has collaborated with other home-taping artist including Minoy, Zan Hoffman, and others. Shmuzorft, Victim Phobia: Albert Van Der Veen ran the cassette label Peuleschille Tapes in the 1980′s. His solo project was Shmuzorft. His brother Henri Van Der Veen did much of the label for the artwork and had a solo project “Ditto”. Shmuzorft collaborated by post with Zan Hoffman in the 1980′s. Victim Phobia was with his brother Henri. Randy Greif: on this compilation strangely spelled as Randy Grief, has been making sounds since the mid 1970′s, Randy Greif has been pushing the boundaries of auditory arts, often incorporating electronic, computer and concrete music with spoken word, “sound theater”, and field recordings. Location recordings in places such as Amazonia, New Guinea, and Thailand have found their way, often manipulated, into some of Greif’s music, branding it as “tribal” electronics. Trademark styles are dense layers of atmospherics, cut-up vocals, and shifting minimal rhythms. “Dark” and “hallucinatory” are often used to describe the overall tone of his work. Qwa Digs Never Parish: are Liz Was & Miekel And. Architects Office: experimental group from Boulder, Colorado, which was formed in 1983. AO are best known for working with innovative filmmaker Stan Brakhage. Nomuzic: Carl Howard has been an active cassette net worker since the 1980′s (having moved into CD’s as well) and a busy musician,his interests are as wide as the varied music he promotes through his Audiofile Tapes label. Mystery Hearsay: is Mike Honeycutt the man behind the experimental/industrial project Mystery Hearsay and the Mystery Hearsay label. Ken Clinger: Veteran home taper from US who was working with the likes of Tom Furgas and Cat Fish. Catfish: No info. We Know Time was released as a 2 x cassette on Jim Tapes (009 / 010) in 198?. Released in a oversized plastic bag with a 17 paged booklet and various Croiners & Jim Tapes artwork and postcards. All included in the zip file.
